Chris Mountain has been a follower of Jesus Christ since he was 10 years old. He has been teaching the Bible for over 30 years, but teaching was not his profession. He had a 4-year Air Force enlistment before returning to college and finishing his civil engineering degree at Texas Tech University in 1991.
He got his masters in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1993. Chris then spent 20 years as a highway engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation before retiring in 2013. At that point God opened up a door of opportunity for him to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. There he earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies in 2015.
Chris and his wife Robin have been married for 22 years. Their children are grown and married and they have four grandchildren. Chris and his wife are members at their home church in Rockwall, Texas. They started the Level Ground Bible Study Class in October 2015 and have been actively involved teaching and leading that group ever since.
The Level Ground Class meets together for Bible study and fellowship every Sunday morning from 11 AM to Noon.

Love the group discussions – Chris always explains whatever questions I have regarding the study.
As we were trying to find a Bible study class we came across Chris’s class. So lucky we found it – wonderful Bible teacher and friendly people.
Chris teaches the Bible in depth! Makes it easier to understand and comprehend the message. All the while with a little levity and humor snuck in to make it enjoyalble.
I joined the class because there is a sweet spirit in it, the closeness of the members and Chris, the teacher, is very devoted to the class as is evident by his preparation each week and his knowledge of the Bible.
Great class – presented in a layman’s fashion. Great people and great style in presentation.
We have enjoyed the class for a real Bible study. Chris brings us to the Bible, in real life!
The chronological overview of the Bible as presented by Chris was an interesting study in our class.
Enjoyed going through the Bible in one year with Chris teaching. I understand the Bible more in depth and enjoy studying and growing in Christ.
